Fitness First

 Not too long ago I was kindly invited to celebrate 1 year countdown to 2016 Rio Olympics at Fitness First Bishopsgate. I came early in the morning for the 8am session as I had to run off to work later that day, I was glad I woke up earlier and had a workout right before work!
The day was hosted by Team GB coaches and all workshops fitted into three sections including Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition and Psychology.
  It was great knowing these people were specialists in their areas and all work with the Team GB Olympians. Fitness First and Team GB have also built this sports profiler tool where you can identify what kind of olympian you are, try is out here.
It's so true that working out it's not just a physical thing, it is just as much psychological. You need to connect with your own body and think of the muscles you're using, tensing, relaxing. Personally I find it very calming and relaxing, especially when you put on your favourite song and simply ease into the movements with your thoughts and body. At first I found it silly thinking such thing could work but believe me, try it yourself. Instead of just working out - try to really connect with the area you're working with - it's all in your power from within.
I was ready to leave around 10am and felt super energetic and ready for work. I wish I was more of a morning person to workout and get it out the way first thing, but I usually end up working out in the evenings. When do you like working out the most?
