Winter Skincare

Good evening :) I don't usually focus on Beauty related posts but I thought why not create one and see how this goes! I'm no expert in beauty products or makeup, but I'm here to tell you what works for me in this cold, dry weather.

When I was younger I always used to put more makeup on during Winter purely cause I felt like it covered and 'helped' my face to stop from getting so dry. LOL I'm laughing thinking about it, 'caking' your makeup on is surely not the way! The last few years I have been going for a more natural look and prefer it much better. I always keep my makeup quite simple and basic, moisture is key! Winter and wind can really dry your skin out so make sure you have a suitable moisturiser for daily use and a moisturising face mask that you can use once a week. I've also recently found the right foundation for my skin, it's light but still covering, same with my face creams: I choose thiner substances and use it twice a day.

I recommend:
Foundation - BareSkin by Bare Minerals (get yours here)

Face Cream - Caudalie Recovery Cream (get yours here)

Face Cream & Mask - Caudalie Moisturising Cream Mask (get yours here)

I've never been the one to have the perfect skin, I've always been fighting with breakouts. Recently what's really helped me is changing up my face wash and getting a toner! Right face wash for you is very important, for example I avoid face washes with Citric Acid as I've recently found out I'm allergic to it! So removing products with it has really helped me. I recommend checking out what your skin is intolerant to, it can make a huge difference. You may think you're getting breakouts for one reason, it may be an allergy intolerance.
Also a good toner is a must! I never realised how much make up you actually still have on your face even after you think you washed it properly. That will just lead to blocked up pores and more spots, so get yourself a good face wash & a toner!

I recommend:
Face Wash - Simple Spotless Skin Face Wash (get yours here)

Facial Toner - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Toner (get yours here)

Spot Cream - Simple Spotless Spot Zapper (get yours here)
I don't know about you guys but I always go super white in the winter haha. So I've found the perfect gradual tan cream which slowly builds up a natural tan. I hate fake tans that leave marks or come out super dark straight away. I use this one once/twice a week after shower and it really does keep up a natural glow. Keeps you away from the harming sun beds too! Last thing, make sure you moisturise your whole body regularly! I usually cream myself all over after shower just to keep up the moisture on a dull day.

I recommend:
Gradual Tan - Johnsons Holiday Skin (get yours here)

Body Cream - The Body Shop Butter (get yours here)

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know if this was any help! Also, keep me updated on what works well for your skin? Maybe you've got some products you're loving at the moment? Especially if it doesn't have Citric Acid in it as I do struggle sometimes!

Until next time,
Love, Skai x
